Meditation
Begin by finding a comfortable seated or lying position. Close your eyes and take a deep breath.
Drop your shoulders, relax your jaw, and settle into this moment. This meditation will guide you into deep relaxation, releasing stress, worry, and tension, and leaving you feeling refreshed and restored.
Breathing and Relaxation
Focus on your breath:
- Inhale: “I am breathing in.”
- Exhale: “I am breathing out.”
Allow your arms and legs to feel heavy. Notice the gentle rise and fall of your belly as you breathe. Let your mind relax and grow still, allowing any thoughts to come and go. Bring your awareness back to your breath and the sound of my voice.
Scanning the Body
Use your awareness to scan through your body, noticing areas of tension:
- Start at the top of the head, relaxing the forehead, sides of the head, and temples.
- Let your eyes, cheeks, and jaw soften.
- Relax the neck and shoulders, releasing stress from the upper body.
- Soften the biceps, triceps, elbows, forearms, wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Focus on the spinal column, relaxing each vertebra and the muscles along your back.
- Let the chest, heart, and sides of the body relax completely.
- Soften the upper and lower belly, releasing any tension stored in the core.
- Relax the hips, thighs, knees, shins, calves, ankles, and feet.
Expanding Peace
As your body relaxes, imagine yourself breathing in peace and breathing out peace. Let this calming energy flow:
- Throughout your body—above, below, and all around you.
- Into the space surrounding you, creating a protective field of peace and calm.
- Toward the earth, planting seeds of restoration and grounding energy.
Feel these energies return to you from the earth, flowing into your heart space and bringing a sense of balance and connection.
Closing the Meditation
As this meditation comes to an end:
- Place your hands over your heart.
- Wiggle your fingers and toes, gently bringing awareness back to your body.
- Stretch your arms and legs, and feel gratitude for taking this time for yourself.
Allow a smile to uplift your mood, anchoring the peaceful energy you’ve cultivated.
Final Words
Thank you for taking this time to release stress and reconnect with your inner calm. Return to this meditation whenever you need it to restore balance and peace to your day.
Be well.
