Letter 15: Letting Go

Dear Humans,

In this day and age, we honor you all for being here. Now. It is not easy.

It has not been for many of you, and we see this with compassion in our hearts. For what you have done is brave and courageous—each of you, all of you on the planet at this time in our story. So may we offer you this: the time has come for all to let go.

The Sacred Act of Letting Go

This is easier said than done.

This is easier for some than others. This sacred and holy act is indeed one of the highest there is—to let go.

Imagine, if you will, your hands clenched so tightly that the knuckles turn white. And if you choose to pry open one, two, or more fingers, what would you find inside?

This is your question alone, and we would suggest with love that you allow yourself this imagining. Each of us thinks we have let go, but rest assured, there is something you are still holding on to.

It may be a person, a home, a business, a bank account, a community.

It may be items such as heirlooms, furnishings, automobiles.

It may be ideas, attitudes, beliefs, religions, or ways of thinking that no longer serve our highest and best good.

Who Am I Without Who I Think I Am?

We are one. And so here we are, at a crossroads, asking: Who am I without who I think I am?

This is the question to ponder.

If you allow yourselves to open your hands wide with intention and ask the universe, Show me now what I may release that no longer serves our highest and best good, rest assured—the universe is quick and fast to answer.

She loves to assist all on our journeys, and she will show you in her rather quick fashion just what the hands do grasp.

The Grip That Hurts

Is it wrong to hold any of the above-mentioned items?

No, of course not.

We all have a unique and beautiful way in the world. However, where the strain and stress lie is in the clinching—the tight grip on anything at all.

It will hurt the one who grips.

It will hurt those around the gripper.

There is a difference between being a good steward of what passes through your consciousness—holding all of it in high regard and respect while it is in your care—and believing it is truly yours to possess.

But is it really yours?

Is this person, this spouse, this child, really yours?

Or are you, in this time, the one who gets to care for them with a tender heart?

Is this land or home really yours, or are you the one who gets to care for it for the time you are with it?

What about the money? The inheritance? The name? The idea?

Where did any of it come from?

We would answer: It came from the One who created the All.

Honoring the Flow of Life

This is the One who is light. This is the One who is love. Who offers out many things for your pleasure.

Can you now walk on the beach and admire the shell without picking it up and making it yours?

Admire the stone just as it is, without altering it to make it shine?

Honor your tree without turning it into a table?

Just be fine with the flower and not pluck it—not even name it. Instead, ask the flower, What is your name? Introduce yourself and have a conversation, realizing the magnificent gifts and riches right before your eyes.

Everything Is Alive

Now, we offer examples only. The above sentiments are philosophical, if you will. This is not a game of shame and blame, but rather an exploration of the world around us and how we relate to it.

Everything is alive.

This is true.

Everything has consciousness.

This is true.

So why not play in your conversations with the chair you sit on now?

Why not try talking to your pet, plant, stars, moon, and sun?

They are waiting for us in many ways to just say hi or thank you.

Gratitude and Release

So too, with your own heart, your own cells, your own emotional, energetic, and spiritual being—you have the same ability to say hi or thank you, and then you will see and know how the essence of who you are responds.

These are ideas, ways of relating to the gift of life.

See the good and smile, for this is indeed the day that God has made, and you are wonderful in Her eyes.

May you be blessed today and all days as you let go even more.
