Meditation
Find a comfortable seated or lying position, ensuring your head and neck are supported. Close your eyes, drop your shoulders, relax your jaw, and take a deep breath.
Let’s take the next 10 minutes to go into a deep relaxation, allowing your body and mind to let go and prepare for whatever comes next.
Breathing and Relaxation
Begin by noticing your breath.
- Inhale: “I am breathing in.”
- Exhale: “I am breathing out.”
Allow your arms and legs to feel heavy. Feel your back and body sink deeper into your chair or bed, sensing the support beneath you. Cultivate a sense of safety and security as you rest, release, and let go.
Gently scan your body with your mind’s eye, noticing any tension in your muscles or emotions. Let those areas soften. As thoughts come and go, gently return your focus to your breath.
Visualizing Golden White Light
Using your imagination, visualize a beautiful bright white light above the top of your head. Let this light begin to shine down:
- Across the top of your head, relaxing your forehead, eyes, and jaw.
- Down the back of your neck, shoulders, and along your spine.
- Into your chest, arms, and fingertips.
Feel the light soften your nervous system, creating a sense of calm and relaxation. Allow this light to flow:
- Through your heart, lungs, and core, releasing any tension.
- Down your legs, through your feet, and into the earth.
Connecting Heaven and Earth
As the light flows through your body, visualize it planting seeds of rest and relaxation into the earth. Imagine Mother Earth sending her nurturing energy back into your body.
Feel this energy flow rhythmically:
- From the heavens, through your body, to the earth.
- From the earth, back through your body, to the heavens.
This gentle flow refreshes your mind, body, and spirit.
Expanding Light
Allow the light in your heart space to expand:
- Flowing outward in all directions—front, back, left, right, above, and below.
- Cleansing and clearing the energy around your body.
Feel your own light shining brightly as you rest in this sacred space of stillness.
Returning to the Present
As the meditation concludes:
- Wiggle your fingers and toes.
- Place your palms over your heart, sending gratitude to yourself for taking this time to rest and restore.
